This is Great! There was nothing like the Gatherings in the Living room- we were not allowed in the sealed off living room - where were would be called on to produce the goods or get a good bit of lashings!.

Yeah, got hit with the wooden spoon... frying pans, leather belts, and a 2x4 when they were really mad, it kinda became the "weapon of choice" after a while cause it hurt so damn much. Usually made my siblings and I pull our pants down so we had no cushion when they wacked us.

once i got the "brilliant" idea to put a piece of wooden sheet (dunno the name in english) on my back, so when i received a kick it wouldn't hurt... turns out that the pressure didn't distribute evenly and felt like being hit with 2 sharp wooden sheets ¬¬

From time to time I got spanked with a belt and one time my mom went after me to the arcade and brought me home spanking me bare hands >.<

Never got hit with a wooden spoon though.

My paternal grandmother grabbed a wooden spoon one time because I was running away and she couldn't hit me with her usual pressure point nonsense (which hurts worse than a leather belt to the ass, by the way - makes your neck and shoulders sting for ages!).

Only a few times with the spoon, and a few spanking were given to me as well. I must be a real bitch, 'cause I stopped causing trouble once my mother broke the wooden spoon on my backside.

Looking back, I probably was worried about how brownies and cookies would be made without the wooden spoon. Obviously I behaved well enough for my parents to get a new spoon, otherwise they would have been worried about breaking it again by hitting me.

My parents were just crazy and used it for every little thing such as not wanting to eat something, seeing a spider and complaining, not wanting to go to a wedding or any other boring event.

OMG bring out the rolling pin and drag him by the arm.

If you think that stuff actually works, or it did for you then I dont get you. For me it filled me with resentment towards my parents untill I started hitting and yelling back from around 16 onwards untill they STFU. Now I wont even go to any family members funerals including my recently deceased grandparents as I dont care the slightest about anyone that is related to me.

Beatings dont work and dont make people turn out right, just like I didnt.

So, if I or my bro's were ever beat with a wooden spoon, I think things such as this has pushed it back into a repressed memory :P

First off, I can not believe this thread is turning out so well. It's stories of beatings and ya'll are LAUGHING.

Only got spanked as a kid. My brother had his own version of punishment for me though. I can still, to this day, piss off my older brother like no other human being on this planet. Special gift I suppose. I've had the ol' towel whippings by him, forks, knives, shoes and other assorted objects thrown at me by him.
